The diary of a self-builder – Winter 2016

Week Six: Closing for Christmas…

The site week 6All the ground floor joists are now in, and the site is now closed for Christmas.  Even with no work happening on the site, it's great to wander round, tidying up and imagining the finished size of the rooms.

Week Seven: Timber!

The site week 7Our builders are back after Hogmanay, and have started putting the timber frame structure up.  They are constructing the timber frame on site, and the structure changes hour by hour - blink and we miss a wall going up! Strong winds are forecast at the end of this week, so fingers crossed the walls don’t blow over!
